My name is Samantha Sutherland, owner of Petit Images. I’ve been photographing in some capacity since I received my first point-and-shoot camera in 2009. I've been shooting professionally since 2016, covering weddings, concerts, and creative portraiture.
I first became interested in photography as a teen, when I was encouraged to explore it as a new creative outlet. I was always interested in art and at the time was feeling uninspired in my pursuit of painting and fine art. Once I picked up a DSLR and started shooting, it became an immediate passion. I now, rarely leave my home without a camera.
I love having the ability to freeze time in a photograph, or capture something others might not have seen or appreciated the same way. My style, as you will see, utilizes a wide range of vivid colors with deep contrast and soft highlights. Here you can find the photographs I take in my spare time when I'm traveling or not photographing people, shows or weddings.
